Haneda Airport prepares for 'Big Bang'
Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT) has approved an increase in daytime landings and departures at Haneda Airport, outside Tokyo, following the opening of its fourth runway in 2010. Being called the ‘Big Bang’, government is aiming for 407,000 aircraft movements a year at the near city facility by 2013.

Shenzhen profits continue to climb
Shenzhen Airlines, based in southern Guangdong province, near the border with Hong Kong, has announced a forecast profit of 450 million yuan (US$58.12 million) for the 2008 calendar year, saying effective cost control had compensated for the carrier’s high fuel bill and demand fall-off.
