From October 28, LATAM Airlines plans to fly nonstop four times a week between Australia’s largest city and its Santiago de Chile hub. Read More » The route, suspended in 2020, will be flown with 787-9s. “We are thrilled to restart our direct flights to Sydney from Santiago to meet the demand of travellers in Australia,” LATAM country manager for Australia, Christopher Ellis, said. “This significant milestone for LATAM Airlines brings Latin America closer to Australians, whether they are flying for business, leisure or cultural exploration.” LATAM serves Sydney one-stop as part of a Santiago de Chile-Auckland-Sydney routing and also operates nonstop Melbourne-Santiago de Chile. Qantas Airways is the only other carrier to operate nonstop Sydney-Santiago de Chile.
