China Eastern Airlines records positive international passenger demand

China Eastern Airlines (CEA) flew 12 million passengers in April, 11.85% more than in the same month in 2024. Read More » CEA’s improved performance included growth of 25% in international travellers to 1.66 million against the same month last year. Capacity expanded 9.6% year-on-year in the month including a 22.9% increase on CEA’s international network, Overall demand was higher by 15.6% with international routes recording a 28% capacity expansion. Passenger load factor was 83.4% and 83.7% on international routes. In April, the Shanghai-based airline introduced an A320 series aircraft to its fleet and retired two A320 and one B737 series jet. At of the close of its month, CEA was flying 814 airliners.
