Jetstar Airways will grow its presence in Bali to 10 nonstop routes from October when it begins service to the popular Indonesia city from Newcastle in Australia. Read More » The Qantas Group LCC has scheduled three flights a week on the Newcastle-Bali route with A321LR aircraft. The inaugural service takes off on October 21. It will be the first international route out of Newcastle Airport, which is about 180km north of Sydney by road, in five years. “Jetstar is committed to making travel more accessible, and people living in and around Newcastle will no longer need to drive to other airports to fly overseas, which means more time and money can go toward their holiday,” Jetstar Group CEO, Steph Tully, said. Currently, Australia-headquartered Jetstar Airways flies to Bali from Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. In addition to Newcastle, Bali-Gold Coast flights start in August and Bali-Singapore flights commence later this week. Singapore-based Jetstar Asia also serves Bali from its Changi hub.
