Garuda suspends cabin crew following passenger’s lost mobile phone

Read More » The passenger said in posts on social media he had tracked his missing phone via the find my phone app to a Melbourne hotel where the Garuda cabin crew on his flight was staying. The phone was later tracked as having been dumped in Melbourne’s Yarra River near the hotel after some of the crew rooms were searched. Garuda commercial director, Ade Susardi, said the airline had apologised to the passenger and deeply regretted the incident. “Garuda Indonesia is undertaking a thorough investigation with relevant stakeholders to support the reporting process,” Ade said. “This includes identifying the chronology of the incident with the cabin crew on duty. Also, for the smooth running of the investigation process, all cabin crew on duty have been temporarily discharged from flying duties.” Ade said the airline was in ongoing communication with the passenger.
