India begins analysis of Air India flight 171 “black boxes”

The Ministry of Civil Aviation of India has announced the “black boxes” recovered from the Air India flight 171 crash site have arrived Delhi and that the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau is extracting their data. Read More » The cockpit voice recorder of the 787-8 was recovered on June 13 from the rooftop of a building at the crash site and the flight data recorder was extracted from the site’s debris on June 16. “The Crash Protection Module from the front black box was safely retrieved. The memory module was successfully accessed and its data downloaded. Analysis of the data is underway,” a ministry statement said.
