Pakistan International Airlines re-starts routes to Europe

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will launch direct flights to Barcelona and Milan as part of the reopening of its network directed by the country’s defence minister, Khawaja Asif, local media reports. Read More » The destinations were announced after the European Union lifted its ban on flights operated by Pakistan’s national carrier. The defence minister instructed the airline to prioritize Barcelona and Milan as large Pakistani communities lived in the two cities. Milan, in particular, is home to a significant number of former Sialkot residents. It also is Asif’s home town.
