GE Aerospace expands and upgrades Asia-Pacific MRO and component shops

Our expansion plans aim to address this demand and deliver improved performance for our customers, reaffirming our commitment to powering and optimizing their flight ambitions,” GE Aerospace vice president assembly, test and MRO, Farah Borges, said. A significant portion of the conglomerate’s investment will fund major projects in Singapore. GE Aerospace’s Seletar campus houses its largest component repair site, managing more than 60% of global repair volume. In Malaysia, GE Aerospace’s flagship overhaul site in the region will be focused on CFM56 and CFM LEAP engines. The investment will transform GE’s Seletar Aerospace Park into a state-of-the-art repair technology research facility. It is intended to develop into a technology incubator, advancing repair capabilities with more additive manufacturing, robotics, automation and digitalization. In Malaysia, the investment will support a doubling in the LEAP engine MRO shop visit capacity in the next three years. In addition to the Singapore and Malaysia projects, the GE Aerospace On Wing Support facility in South Korea will be equipped with upgraded engine test cells, acquire new tooling and introduce AI-enabled inspection techniques.
