China Airlines and STARLUX Airlines promote Phoenix flights at Taiwan’s SEMICON exhibition

Taiwan-based carriers, China Airlines (CAL) and STARLUX Airlines, made their presence felt at the SEMICON Taiwan 2025 exhibition being held in Taipei this week. Read More » Regarded as one of the world’s most influential semiconductor exhibitions, it was an opportunity for the two full-service airlines to promote their planned Taipei-Phoenix Arizona routes, the home city of the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) U.S. production facility. The first TSMC Arizona factory began mass producing 4-nanometer chips in late 2024. Construction on the second complex, that will manufacture 3-nanometer chips, is nearly complete. A groundbreaking ceremony for third addition to the Phoenix campus was held last April. CAL is planning to launch Taipei-Phoenix three times a week from this December 3 flying the route with A350-900s. The schedule will include a stopover in Los Angeles on the return leg to Taipei. It will be the first Asian airline to operate into Phoenix airport, CAL said. STARLUX Airlines, listed as SEMICON’s special sponsor, will launch Taipei-Phoenix on January 15 with A350s. It will be a three times a week schedule at launch and increase to four times a week from next March.
