IndiGo designates Athens as first A321XLR destination

In March next year, AEGEAN Airlines will start Athens-Delhi five times a week and Athens-Mumbai three times weekly, also with A321XLRs. The carriers have agreed a Memorandum of Understanding to offer flights on each other’s networks, facilitate AEGEAN’s connectivity to India and South Asia and offer IndiGo customers access to AEGEAN’s extensive domestic and European networks. “This collaboration enables our customers to conveniently book seamless itineraries on an expanded, integrated network across both airlines, including beautiful islands in Greece and other regional European destinations. As two ancient civilisations, India and Greece, reconnect through aviation, we are excited to join hands with AEGEAN to meet the growing demand for international air travel and to foster stronger business ties between the two nations,” IndiGo CEO, Pieter Elbers, said. “This step expands AEGEAN’s footprint beyond Europe to one of the world’s most dynamic markets, strengthening the bridge between Greece and India,” AEGEAN chair, Eftichios Vassilakis, said.
