Hong Kong International Airport reports 15.8% more passengers travelled through airport last month

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) said 5.7 million passengers travelled through its two terminals in August, an improvement from 4.9 million passengers processed through HKIA a year ago. Read More » Flight movements increased 10.2% and cargo tonnage was higher by 5.6% for the month, Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) said. "The surge in traffic was largely due to a rebound in travel to/from Japan and a continued rise in traffic to and from the Chinese Mainland and other destinations," AAHK said. The airport throughput more than 200,000 passengers on August 10; the airport’s highest daily total of passengers since the pandemic, AAHK said.
