Malaysia Aviation Group to establish "in-flight catering hub"

Malaysia Aviation Group, the parent company of Malaysia Airlines (MAS), said this week it plans to launch its own in-flight catering hub by 2029. Read More » The new facility, to be located near its existing operations at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, will be operated by MAG Catering Solutions (MAGCS) and is planned to double production capacity from its 26,000 meals daily at present to more than 50,000 meals a day. "MAGCS production rate cannot fully provide for Malaysia Airlines and Firefly. We still rely on other catering partners. The new facility will cover the full network of Malaysia Airlines and we expect to have surplus capacity to support other MAG airlines and even third party carriers," MAS chief operating officer, Nasaruddin Bakar, said.
