Jetstar Airways has added a 10th nonstop link between Australia and the popular tourist destination Bali in Indonesia. Read More » The Qantas Group LCC Monday (October 20) commenced three times weekly nonstop flights between Newcastle and Bali. The inaugural flight was operated by A321LR, registration VH-OFL, which took off from Denpasar a little before Newcastle after 2300 local time as the JQ89 and touched down in Newcastle about five and a half hours later. The aircraft was on the ground for about two hours before operating the JQ88 back to Bali. "We’re thrilled to see our first Newcastle to Bali service take off today, giving travellers in the Hunter region a direct, low-fares link to one of Australia’s favourite holiday destinations," Jetstar Group CEO, Stephanie Tully, said. "This route means more convenience and more choice for our customers, and it’s another step in our mission to help Aussies takeoff more." The route - Newcastle Airport’s only international destination - was launched with the support of the NSW government. Newcastle is Jetstar’s 10th destination from Bali alongside existing service to Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth, Singapore and Sydney.
