Read More » Total demand for air travel, measured by revenue passenger kilometres (RPK), rose 6.6% in October, compared with the same month in 2024. Capacity rose 5.8% year-on-year, while passenger load factor increased 0.7 of a percentage point to 84.6%. "The trends for the rest of the year look encouraging: scheduled seat capacity in November is set to expand 3.6% and in December by 4.7%," IATA director-general, Willie Walsh, said. "This points to strong demand for holiday travel and businesses looking to complete deals by the end of the year. The airline lobby group said the Asia-Pacific region grew RPKs 8.1%, while capacity was 5.4% higher and passenger load factor climbed 1.2 percentage points to 85.1%.
