Indonesia AirAsia expands Australia network

Indonesia AirAsia will join the busy Melbourne-Bali route with daily nonstop flights from March 20 next year. Read More » It will be the LCC’s fourth destination in Australia after Adelaide, Darwin and Perth. "Bali remains a top destination for many Australians, captivating the hearts of travellers young and old," Indonesia AirAsia acting CEO, Captain Achmad Sadikin Abdurachman, said. "This strategic launch strengthens Indonesia AirAsia’s presence in Australia and opens a key gateway connecting Southeast Asia to southern Australia." Short-lived sister carrier, Indonesia AirAsia X, which ceased operations in 2019, previously flew Melbourne-Bali. Batik Air Malaysia, Garuda Indonesia, Jetstar Airways, Qantas and Virgin Australia offer nonstop flights between Melbourne and Bali.
