Boeing said it expects to begin delivering improved 787-9 and 787-10 Dreamliners to airlines in the first half of this year. Improvements to the maximum takeoff weight of the wide-body planes will let airlines fly a further 400 miles (643 km) or five to six tons of additional cargo. "Those aircraft are actually already in the production system, moving through towards certification, and we anticipate deliveries of those aircraft beginning in the first half of this year," Darren Hulst, Boeing’s vice president of commercial marketing, told journalists on the sidelines of the Singapore Airshow. He also said the planemaker expected the larger 777X to be certified in the second half of the year, though it might not enter service until next year. On the same day, Reuters reported seeing documents indicating that the OEM plans to conduct the first flight of a production 777X in April. Currently, the company is conducting fuel tests on the 777X ordered by Lufthansa at Paine Field in Everett, Washington.

Tigerair Taiwan has signed a purchase agreement with Airbus for four A321neo jets. "The purchase of A321neo aircraft is a cornerstone of our ‘third-generation’ fleet expansion, designed to maximise operational efficiency as we scale for regional dominance," said Chairperson Joyce Huang of Tigerair Taiwan.

Vietjet has confirmed the selection of Pratt & Whitney’s Geared Turbofan (GTF) engines to power 44 A320neo airliners, which it will start adding to its fleet from July 2026. The agreement signed during the Singapore Airshow also covers a 12-year EngineWise comprehensive maintenance plan. The 24 A321neos and 20 A321XLRs are part of a 100-ship firm order that Vietjet placed with Airbus in October 2025. This brought the total order commitment for the A321 to 280 aircraft.

Thai Airways selected Collins’ flight operations and maintenance exchanger (Fomax) system for its Airbus A321neo fleet. Fomax delivers real-time data to pilots, maintenance departments, and back offices, improving situational awareness, predictive maintenance, and fleet efficiency. It includes ACARS over IP technology.

Pratt & Whitney Canada signed a 15-year maintenance agreement with Scoot, Singapore Airlines’ low-cost subsidiary, for 24 APS5000 auxiliary power units on its fleet of Boeing 787s.

South Korea’s carrier Air Premia has agreed to have airframe components for its Boeing 787-9 fleet maintained by the Lufthansa Technik facility in Shenzhen, China.

Indian seaplane operator Maritime Energy Heli Air Services (Mehair) plans to operate the new hybrid-electric Polaris model being developed by U.S. start-up Tidal Flight. The companies signed a memorandum of understanding at the Singapore Airshow on Wednesday covering five firm orders and five options for the 9- to 12-passenger aircraft. According to Virginia-based Tidal Flight, deliveries of the Polaris will begin in 2030, with a list price of approximately $6 million. The company said the aircraft will fly up to 1,000 nm and has attracted 12 purchase agreements, potentially totaling 150 orders.

Embraer is in discussions with Thai Aviation Industries—a provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for state and commercial aircraft—about potentially establishing the Bangkok-based company as a local authorized service center (ASC).
