Indonesia AirAsia adds Kendari to domestic network

Indonesia AirAsia will fly nonstop to Kendari, on the island of Sulawesi, from Makassar next month. Read More » The LCC has scheduled twice daily flights between Kendari and Makassar starting March 7, with some services continuing on from Makassar to Surabaya and from Kendari to Palu under the same flight number. It will be the second airline on the Kendari-Makassar route alongside existing service from Batik Air. Indonesia AirAsia acting CEO, Captain Achmad Sadikin Abdurachman, said the new route was part of the LCC’s efforts to expand its presence in eastern Indonesia. The new services also provided residents of Kendari more travel options to other parts of Indonesia via its Makassar hub and internationally from Surabaya.
