China Airlines flew over one million passengers in January

Taiwan-headquartered China Airlines (CAL) flew 1,031,537 passengers in January 2026, up 0.4% compared to the same month last year. CAL’s January operating revenue reached TW$15 billion (US$470 million), marking a 9.8% year-on-year decline. This year’s Lunar New Year, an important economic factor for the Region, falls in February, rather than January in 2025, which could affect year-on-year comparisons due to a high base effect.
