SmartLynx Australia has rebranded back to Skytrans. Skytrans, which acquired the SmartLynx brand in July last year to align it with other airlines in the Avia Solutions Group (ASG), has restored its former branding following the collapse of SmartLynx Latvia at the end of November.
Singapore Airlines (SIA) and SIA Engineering Company have deepened their partnership with A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research, with the signing of two new joint lab agreements. Building on earlier collaborations, this next phase will scale smart, sustainable advanced manufacturing capabilities for aircraft cabin components and develop AI-powered solutions to further strengthen operational reliability and enhance maintenance efficiency.
Vietjet Qazaqstan announced a partnership with InteliSys Aviation to facilitate its transition to the new Amelia Passenger Service System (PSS). The platform is already used by its parent company, Vietjet, and its subsidiary, Thai Vietjet Air.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the Singapore Sustainable Aviation Fuel Company Ltd. (SAFCo), and nine companies have launched Singapore’s first trial for central procurement of voluntary Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The nine companies are the Boston Consulting Group, Changi Airport Group, DB Bank, GenZero, Google, OCBC, Temasek, Singapore Airlines (SIA), and Scoot. The organisations involved have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and will trial the purchase of SAF through SAFCo.
Cathay Pacific has appointed Spafax as its media sales representative, with the company set to lead the commercialisation of advertising opportunities across the airline’s media ecosystem, including in-flight entertainment, onboard publications, digital channels, and experiential formats.
Also in Cathay Pacific news, the airline’s shareholders at the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on February 12, 2026, have granted their approval of the Share Buy-back. On the same day, Cathay Pacific Airways and Qatar Airways executed the Buy-back Deed after the conclusion of the EGM.
Jet Airways sold three Boeing 777 aircraft frames and six engines to a Malta-based Ace Aviation for US$46 million. Aircraft frame MSN 35159 - VT-JES, and engines ESN - 906336 and ESN - 906364, will be sold for USD 16 million, while aircraft frame MSN 35158 - VT-JEV, as well as engines ESN - 906353 and ESN -906298 will be sold for USD 12.5 million, according to the filing.
Malaysia Aviation Group’s (MAG) Firefly announced that it has successfully extended the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) Registry for a further two (2) years until February 2028.
China Eastern Airlines (CEA) said that from February 17, 2026, complimentary Wi-Fi will be available to all passengers on widebody flights between the Chinese mainland and neighboring countries and regions, including Australia and New Zealand.
