Bamboo Airways to "restart strategic cooperation" with Boeing

Bamboo Airways founder, Trinh Van Quyet, has held talks with the head of Boeing’s operations in Vietnam, Michael Vu Nguyen, to revive cooperation agreements paused during the COVID-19 pandemic and as the airline underwent restructuring. Read More » The airline said the time was right to revisit its partnership with Boeing amid a more encouraging outlook for air travel and the progress it has made restructuring the business. "As operations are gradually stabilising and its medium- and long-term development strategy becomes more clearly defined, Bamboo Airways has been restoring and developing previously established cooperation frameworks in alignment with market conditions," Bamboo Airways said. "Based on optimising fleet structure and enhancing operational efficiency, the airline has proposed leasing new generation aircraft, specifically the Boeing 737 MAX, to improve fuel efficiency, control costs, and increase flexibility in network deployment." Bamboo Airways withdrew its 787-9 fleet in 2023, when it cancelled all long-haul routes. It now operates an all-Airbus fleet of A320 family aircraft.
