Timor-Leste flag carrier, Aero Dili, will start flights to Australia in May when it commences nonstop service to Darwin from its Dili hub. Read More » The new service is scheduled to operate twice a week with A320 family aircraft from May 24. "Launching our first direct service to Australia is a proud milestone for Aero Dili and an important step in deepening the partnership between Timor-Leste and the Northern Territory," Aero Dili president director, Lourenço De Oliveira, said. "Darwin is a natural gateway between Australia and Timor-Leste, and we are excited to bring the two cities closer together while opening new opportunities for tourism, investment, and regional collaboration." Australia will join Mainland China, Indonesia and Singapore in Aero Dili’s international work. The airline is also launching flights to Kuala Lumpur later this month. There are currently two airlines on the Darwin-Dili route - Airnorth and Qantas Group’s regional wing, QantasLink.
