China Airlines reduces its aircraft orders from Airbus

Taiwan-headquartered China Airlines (CAL) has revised its fleet acquisition plan, reducing previously agreed orders for new aircraft with Airbus. Read More » In the stock exchange filing, the company said it has reduced the A350-900 order by two aircraft, bringing the total down to three. The A321neo order has been reduced from eight aircraft to just two. The adjustment was made “due to strategic considerations.” Following the revision, the total acquisition value of the A350-900 aircraft has been reduced to approximately $1.2 billion, down from nearly $2 billion.
