Air Premia continues to reduce the number of seats on board its Boeing 787-9 fleet

South Korea’s hybrid carrier Air Premia retrofitted its Boeing 787-9 aircraft, registration HL8701, reducing the number of seats from 344 to 326, while increasing economy seat pitch from 31″ to 33″. Read More » The aircraft returned to service on March 16, 2026. The change is designed to improve the passengers’ comfort on the long-haul routes. The process started in 2024, when Air Premia retrofitted two aircraft with a 338-seat configuration, reducing the number of seats to 320. Now all aircraft with a 344-seat configuration are expected to be retrofitted within the year. “Air Premia is committed to continuously improving seat space and the cabin environment so that passengers traveling on long-haul routes can enjoy a more comfortable journey. We will continue to introduce various service enhancements to further elevate the customer experience,” the carrier said in a statement. Air Premia currently operates a fleet of nine Boeing 787-9 aircraft in 309-, 320-, 326-, and 344-seat configurations.
