Singapore Airlines boosts Mainland China network with new Hangzhou route

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will start nonstop flights to Hangzhou from its Changi hub from 1 June. Read More » The Star Alliance member will serve Hangzhou, in Zhejiang province in East China, daily with A350-900 aircraft configured to carry 303 passengers in a two-class layout comprising 40 in business and 263 in economy. The flights have been scheduled as an evening departure from Singapore and an overnight service from Hangzhou. SIA will join sister carrier, LCC Scoot, as well as China Eastern Airlines and Loong Air on the route. Hangzhou will be SIA’s ninth nonstop route to Mainland China alongside existing flights to Beijing Capital, Beijing Daxing Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shanghai Pudong, Shenzhen and Xiamen. Scoot flies to 15 destinations in Mainland China. "The launch of services to Hangzhou caters to demand from both leisure and business travellers to China," SIA senior vice president for marketing planning, Dai Haoyu, said. "This new daily service deepens our presence in a key market for the SIA Group, and offers customers greater flexibility, connectivity, and choice when travelling between Singapore and China, and the wider region."
