Qantas bests Virgin Australia for punctuality in latest month

Qantas Airways had 82% of its domestic flights arrive within 15 minutes of their schedules in February, delivering the best on-time performance for the month among the country’s major carriers. Read More » It bettered Virgin Australia (79.7%) and Jetstar at 72.1%, Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics said in its monthly on-time performance report. Qantas also topped the table for on-time departures at 83.9%, ahead of VA at 76.6% and Jetstar at 69.6%. VA bettered its two major rivals for cancellations, with 1.4% of its scheduled services cancelled in February, compared with 2.8% at Qantas and 2.4% at Jetstar. The best on-time performance for the reported period was recorded by regional carrier, Hinterland, with an on-time departures rate 91.5%. Hinterland also topped the table for punctual arrivals at 87.9%.
