Singapore’s decision to postpone SAF levy rollout was “sensible”, IATA head says

Read More » “Singapore was very clear about what the objectives of the levy were. The objectives were to incentivize production. What we have seen in recent weeks is that the price of SAF has significantly increased. So I think the levy would not incentivize any additional production, it would just have meant more money with less SAF,” Walsh explained. The IATA head said the way Singapore approached the issue can be viewed as an example for other regulators: “It is what we would like to see from other governments around the world, to understand what the objective is, and if necessary, change their decision to ensure the right objective is achieved.”
