CDB Aviation, a wholly owned Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing (CDB Leasing), announced the delivery of one Boeing 737-8 aircraft to its current customer China Southern Airlines (CSA). The MAX aircraft’s arrival follows the receipt of a pair of Airbus A321-251NXs from the lessor’s orderbook in August 2025, increasing the number of aircraft on long-term lease to the carrier to three.

In other CDB Aviation news, the leasing company announced the delivery of a second Boeing 737-8 to South Korea’s T’way Air. The 737-8 aircraft is configured with 189 single-class economy seats and equipped with the CFM LEAP-1B27 engines. The carrier currently has two 737-8 aircraft on lease from CDB Aviation.

Japan Airlines (JAL) has selected SES to deliver new multi-orbit inflight connectivity (IFC) for its Airbus and Boeing long-haul fleet. Under the agreement, JAL will install SES’s multi-orbit electronically steered antenna (ESA) system on 20 Airbus A350-900 aircraft (linefit), 10 Boeing 787-9 aircraft (linefit), and 11 Boeing 787-9 aircraft (retrofit). Linefit deliveries are expected to begin in 2028.

Amazon debuted the Leo Aviation Antenna, a dish specifically designed for planes that promises to deliver high-speed internet to passengers. The company suggests that its antenna will be easier to install on commercial jets than SpaceX’s solution.
