AirAsia X shareholders to vote on name change to AirAsia Group

AirAsia X (AAX) has proposed a name change to AirAsia Group. Read More » The airline group said in a regulatory filing its request to the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) to reserve the name had been approved in February. "The proposed change of name is subject to the approval of the shareholders of the company at the forthcoming 19th annual general meeting of the company to be convened," AAX said. "A circular to the shareholders containing the details of the proposed change of name will be issued to the shareholders of the company, in due course." In January, AAX completed the takeover of AirAsia-branded airlines in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand from Capital A. The transaction has put all AirAsia-branded carriers and AAX’s own AirAsia X-branded airlines in Malaysia and Thailand under the same roof.
