April 28th 2026
Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) reported 5.7 million passengers for March, up 19.6% from 4.8 million in the same month in 2025. Read More » Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) said the sharp rise in passenger numbers was mainly driven by the growth in transfer/transit passengers. "The recent tension in the Middle East resulted in notable growth in the traffic to/from Europe," AAHK said. "Meanwhile, traffic to/from Southeast Asia and Chinese Mainland continued to build the momentum." The number of flight movements rose 2.7% to 34,100 in March. However, cargo volumes fell 4.4% year-on-year to 430,000 tonnes. "The decline was primarily driven by a 14.9% year‑on‑year drop in exports due to a steep 62.1% reduction in exports to the Middle East following the regional tensions," AAHK explained.
