China Southern Airlines posts 1.5 billion yuan quarterly profit

China Southern Airlines (CSA) improved its bottom line by more than 2 billion yuan (US$293 million) during the three months to March 31 2026 to achieve a net profit of 1.5 billion yuan for the quarter, from a 747 million yuan net loss in the same three months in 2025. Read More » Revenue rose 10.1% to 47.8 billion yuan, CSA said in a regulatory filing. Operating costs were 6.1% higher at 46.9 billion yuan. "The reporting period was primarily driven by sustained improvement in production and operations, resulting in a significant increase in profitability," CSA said.
