Malaysia Airlines’ 18th 737 MAX 8 marks 200 deliveries of Boeing aircraft

Read More » The Boeing narrow body, registration 9M-MVQ, touched down at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) yesterday (May 24) following its three-day ferry flight from Boeing Field in Washington State in the U.S. via Honolulu and Guam. In addition to being the 18th 737 MAX 8 to arrive in the Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) carrier’s fleet, it is also the 200th Boeing aircraft delivered to Malaysia Airlines. The airline group has a total of 43 737 MAX 8s and 12 737 MAX 10s on order, with deliveries running through to 2030. "More than just an addition to our fleet, this milestone reflects a long-standing operational history that has supported our capacity growth and fleet evolution over the decades as we continue our deep-seated mission to connecting Malaysia to the world," MAG group CEO, Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar, said. "The introduction of these next-generation aircraft will further strengthen our ability to support future growth opportunities and evolving market needs, while continuing to deliver a more modern and comfortable travel experience for our customers." The oneworld alliance member’s 737 MAX 8s have been configured with 12 business and 162 economy seats for a total of 174.
