China Airlines finalizes order for two Boeing 777F freighters

Taiwan-headquartered China Airlines (CAL) announced in a regulatory filing that it had purchased two 777F freighters from Boeing for a total amount not exceeding US$876 million, following the resolution to obtain the aircraft from November 2025. Read More » According to the local media, the newly purchased aircraft are expected to be delivered next year. CAL currently operates a fleet of 18 all-cargo airplanes and is looking to add four more in 2027 to meet the current wave of AI (artificial intelligence) cargo demand. Taiwan is central to the global semiconductor chain, a foundation for AI development.
