The India government has announced a 100 billion rupee (US$1 billion) support package to provide relief from high jet fuel prices. As part of the package, the government has capped the price of jet fuel to 75.6 rupee a litre for local carriers, well below the current market price, local media reported, citing comments from Minister for information Ashwini Vaishnaw. The package will reimburse oil refiners for selling below the market price.
The oneworld airline marketing alliance and Indian Hotels Company (IHC) have launched a partnership which offers those holding oneworld status discounts at participating hotels. The tie-up also includes reciprocal loyalty recognition, with members of select oneworld airlines able to be matched to an equivalent tier within IHC’s Taj InnerCircle - NeuPass program and vice versa.
