IndiGo inaugurates operations at Noida International Airport

IndiGo has commenced flight operations into and out of Jewar’s Noida International Airport (NIA) in Uttar Pradesh. Read More » The inaugural flight, the 6E2278, arrived from Lucknow on Monday morning, while the first departure was to Bengaluru. IndiGo is the launch airline for the new airport, which is situated within India’s National Capital Region (NCR). It has an initial schedule of eight flights a day from Noida, building up to a domestic network of 16 destinations by mid July. "Opening of the Noida International Airport marks a new chapter in India’s aviation story," IndiGo chief strategy officer, Aloke Singh, said. "For IndiGo, the privilege of being the launch carrier at NIA is more than a commercial milestone. It is a commitment to western Uttar Pradesh, to the broader Delhi NCR, and the millions of travellers for whom this gateway opens new possibilities." NIA vice chair, Christoph Schnellmann, said: "We look forward to working closely with IndiGo to deliver a seamless travel experience and support the continued growth of aviation, trade and tourism across the region."
