Akasa Air touches down at Noida International Airport

Akasa Air has commenced flight operations into and out of Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Read More » The airline’s inaugural service, the QP2017 from Navi Mumbai, operated by 737 MAX 8 registration VT-YBH, touched down at NIA a little after 0915 local time on June 16. The aircraft was on the ground for about 90 minutes before taking off as the reciprocal QP2018 back to Navi Mumbai. Akasa Air is launching daily service to Noida, which is situated within India’s National Capital Region (NCR), from Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai. "As one of India’s newest aviation gateways, the airport offers significant opportunities to enhance connectivity for travellers across the National Capital Region and neighbouring states," Akasa Air chief commercial officer, Anand Srinivasan, said. "Our early presence at Noida aligns with our long-term strategy of building a strong network across key growth markets while supporting the development of modern aviation infrastructure." IndiGo was the first airline to operate at NIA. Akasa Air is also building a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at NIA.
