Jetstar Airways brings back Sydney-Auckland flights in October

Jetstar Airways announced that on October 26, 2026, it will resume flights on the Sydney-Christchurch route, which it last operated in 2019. Read More » Jetstar said it will be the only budget carrier offering flights on the route, with four rotations per week planned.

On October 24, 2026, the LCC will suspend flights on the Christchurch-Cairns and Auckland-Sunshine Coast routes due to lower-than-expected demand and a significant rise in operating costs. Jetstar also announced It would increase the frequency of the Auckland-Melbourne route from seven to 11 flights per week, and would “open further connections to Jetstar’s expansive Asia network, including a seamless through-route to Colombo, Sri Lanka".
