Japan Airlines joins forces with railway company, Kumamoto Airport, and tourism organization to promote Kyushu region among Western visitors

Japan Airlines (JAL) announced that, together with JR Kyushu, Kumamoto International Airport, and the Kyushu Tourism Organization, it has launched a joint project to attract inbound travelers, primarily from Western countries, to the Kyushu region. Read More » On June 25, 2026, JAL, in partnership, launched a multilingual website, “Choose KYUSHU Project,” with information on traveling in the region. In the future, the organizers plan to participate jointly in major overseas travel expos held in Western countries, PR events targeting local media and travel agencies, and other promotional activities.
JAL said the idea for the campaign came after the success of a French influencer based in Fukuoka, whose social media activities received strong public attention. The Kyushu region is already popular in the Southeast Asian market, so the new campaign provides an opportunity to introduce it to visitors from Western countries as well.
