European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) said on June 24, 2026, it was extending its conflict-zone advisory for the airspace over Iran, Iraq and Lebanon until July 1. It said the airlines should continue to avoid the airspace and remain cautious across the region, despite the progress in talks between the US and Iran, because violations remained possible.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Airlines Technical Pool (IATP) have agreed to cooperate in helping airlines to improve their visibility of, and access to, aircraft parts. “Supply chain constraints continue to create operational and financial pressure for airlines. Addressing these challenges requires practical cooperation across the industry. By combining IATP’s technical pooling expertise with IATA’s technical expertise, we can help airlines access serviceable materials and strengthen maintenance resilience,” said Stuart Fox, IATA’s Director, Flight and Technical Operations.
Willis Lease Finance Corporation announced that it has closed the acquisition of three Airbus A330-300 aircraft that will be leased to China Airlines (CAL) and EVA Airways. “Demand for assets and aftermarket services remains exceptionally strong as operators navigate fleet growth, delivery delays, and ongoing maintenance capacity constraints,” said Austin C. Willis, Chief Executive Officer of WLFC. “We believe the current market environment presents a compelling opportunity to deploy capital into high-quality assets. This purchase represents another important step in the continued expansion of our portfolio and commitment to supporting our customers around the world.”
The European Union (EU) and the Government of Kazakhstan have signed an agreement opening routes to Kazakhstan to all airlines. The Horizontal Aviation Agreement will allow any eligible EU airline to fly between Kazakhstan and the 17 bloc countries. Previously, the access to Kazakhstan from EU member states has been restricted to national carriers.
MHholidays, the holiday arm of Malaysia Airlines (MAS), said it is bringing back its Kids Fly & Stay Free campaign. The campaign makes domestic travel more accessible by allowing children aged two to 11 years old to enjoy complimentary flights and hotel stays on selected MHholidays packages when travelling with two paying adults and one child.
