Lessor AerCap plans to raise US$900 in fresh capital through the sale of senior notes due to mature in 2031 and with an interest rate of 4.875%. The proceeds were for "general corporate purposes, including to acquire, invest in, finance or refinance aircraft assets and to repay indebtedness", AerCap said in a regulatory filing.
Airbus has received an order for 18 A330-900 widebodies from Scandinavia-based carrier, SAS.
Cathay Cargo has added two more land transport services to support producers in the Greater Bay Area get their products into and out from Hong Kong more quickly. The cargo operator has started a refrigerated barge service between Hong Kong International Airport and the Cathay Cargo terminal in Dongguan, while its Air-Land Fresh Lane along the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge corridor has been extended to include Macao. "The GBA is a key growth market for premium perishables, and we have listened closely to our customers by enhancing connectivity and strengthening service assurance across every touchpoint," Cathay general manager for cargo commercial, James Evans, said. "With three intermodal routes now fully operational - each offering distinct advantages in speed, cost and flexibility - we remain committed to further expanding our network as demand continues to grow, while reinforcing Hong Kong’s status as a world-leading air cargo hub."
Singapore-headquartered BOC Aviation has signed a purchase-and-leaseback agreement with Qatar Airways covering three A350-1000s. The Airbus widebodies were on long-term operating leases and have been delivered to the airline, BOC Aviation said in a regulatory filing.
Emirates SkyCargo has started flying 777-300ERSF passenger to freighter converted aircraft. The first freighter, registration A6-EBK, entered commercial service on the Hong Kong to Dubai route today (please confirm before publication). The airline plans to induct five 777-300ERSF freighters between now and the end of next year. "We are optimising our fleet assets by converting older Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft to meet the growing demand for air cargo capacity to transport goods rapidly across the world," Emirates SkyCargo divisional senior vice president, Badr Abbas, said.
