Air India has rolled out electronic technical logbooks to replace paper-based maintenance records for its 777 and 787 fleet, following approval of their use by the country’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation. "The implementation of electronic technical logbooks across our widebody Boeing fleet reaffirms the collaborative work involving engineering, flight operations, digital technology teams, OEM partners and the regulator," Air India senior vice president for engineering and maintenance, Jeremy Yew Jin Kit, said. "Replacing paper-based processes with real-time digital information, we are improving operational efficiency, strengthening maintenance governance, enhancing regulatory compliance and enabling faster decision-making across our engineering and operations teams."
The Australian government has announced it will replace paper arrival cards for international travellers to the country with a digital arrival card over the next 12 to 18 months.
Boeing’s presence at this week’s Farnborough International Airshow in the U.K. will include a full-size cabin section mockup for its 777-9X aircraft from its commercial airplanes business.
