Japan Airlines passenger numbers fall in June

Japan Airlines (JAL) posted a drop in both domestic and international passengers in June. Read More » The decline was steepest at its domestic operations, with the number of travellers on JAL’s in-country services falling 7.2% to 2.8 million during the 30 days, from 3.1 million in the same month in 2025. Demand, or revenue passenger kilometres (RPK), was down 6.7%, while capacity, measured by available seat kilometres (ASK), was cut by 3.9%. Domestic passenger load factor slipped 3.3 percentage points to 78.8%. The oneworld alliance member reported 621,782 international passengers for the 30 days, a drop of 3.3% from 643,324 in June 2025. JAL said RPKs and ASKs at international operations were 6% and 3% lower in June, respectively, while international passenger load factor slipped 2.7 percentage points to 83.2%.
