Airport Authority Hong Kong focuses on protecting HKIA workers from heat

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has announced measures to safeguard the welfare of workers at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Read More » The authority has also run its annual campaign highlighting the ways to prevent heat stroke at work. Heat prevention measures included three mobile water trucks which travel to 10 locations across the airfield to provide chilled drinking water 24 hours a day, five air conditioned staff rest facilities and the distribution of sun protection equipment. The airport has also installed 49 sheltered staff areas across the HKIA apron, among other measures."In response to recent heatwaves, AAHK has reminded related departments and business partners to closely monitor the Labour Department’s "Heat Stress at Work Warning", conduct ongoing assessments of heat-related risks across different work procedures, and continuously review and refine various heat prevention measures," AAHK said.
