China Southern Airlines reports 3.8% growth in passengers for July

China Southern Airlines (CSA) flew 16.7 million passengers on its domestic, international and regional flights in July, up from 16.1 million in the same month a year ago. Read More » The increase was led by CSA’s international flying, which achieved 7.9% growth to 2 million passengers in the month. The domestic operations had 3.4% more passengers at 14.6 million. However, CSA’s regional unit carried 0.2% fewer passengers year-on-year at 164,030. Passenger load factor rose 0.8 percentage points to 85.2% as capacity grew 4.2% and demand, or revenue passenger kilometres, climbed 5.3%. During July, CSA inducted eight passenger aircraft while withdrawing seven from the lift, lifting its fleet by one to 974 by the end of the month, compared with June 30.
