Airlines impacted by major fuel contamination at Nadi Airport: report

Airlines flying into and out of Nadi Airport in Fiji have been forced to cancel flights, operate larger aircraft and reroute services due to a fuel "major contamination" issue at the country’s main international airport, local media reported, citing unnamed sources. Read More » Airlines such as Air New Zealand and Qantas Airways have upgauged some services to Nadi in order to avoid refuelling there, while Virgin Australia cancelled two flights late last week and added stops in New Caledonia and Vanuatu for services which did operate. Nadi Airport told media the airport remained open and was continuing to operate normally. A cause of the contamination was not disclosed.
