Russian airspace is becoming “completely dangerous”, Ukraine’s president warns

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy issued a warning to airlines, insurers and “everyone who still uses Russia’s key airports” that the presence of Ukrainian drones had made Russian airspace dangerous to use. There will simply be drones in Russia’s skies on a scale that has to be taken into account,” he said in an address. “We in Ukraine do not want innocent lives to be lost. That is why we are warning our partners: the safe days in Russia’s skies are over,” said Zelenskiy. “It is important that the airlines currently flying to airports primarily in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other key destinations in Russia hear this as well,” he added.
Currently, Russian airspace is used by airlines from countries like China, Turkey, and the Middle East. Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, airlines from Europe and the U.S. do not overfly Russia.
