Flights cancelled across Indonesia over weekend due ash cloud

Several airports across Indonesia, including at the capital Jakarta, were forced to suspend operations over the weekend due to volcanic activity from the Anak Krakatau volcano. Read More » At least 300 flights were cancelled through Sunday afternoon, the Indonesia airports operator, Angkasa Pura, told local media. Garuda Indonesia said yesterday (September 6) all flights into and out of Bandung, Jakarta and Lampung were cancelled until noon local time today (September 7) due to the Volcanic ash from the Mount Anak Krakatau. "We offer affected passengers rescheduling or a full refund, subject to applicable terms," Garuda Indonesia said. "Please check your flight status before heading to the airport." AirAsia Group said yesterday (September 6) all its flights into and out of Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta were canceled or rescheduled. "AirAsia is continuing to monitor Mount Anak Krakatau’s volcanic activity and will update its travel advisory with the resumption of normal operations," AirAsia said.
