India’s IndiGo announced it will launch the Mumbai-Dar es Salaam route daily from November 20, 2026. Read More » The LCC said the new service to Tanzania is expected to strengthen connectivity between India and East Africa, supporting travel for trade, investment, tourism, education and cultural exchange. India and Tanzania share longstanding commercial ties, with engagement across sectors including manufacturing, agriculture and healthcare. “The launch of direct daily flights between Mumbai and Dar es Salaam underscores our commitment to building stronger connections between India and fast-growing global markets. Tanzania is an important economic partner for India and a gateway to East Africa, with growing demand for travel driven by trade, investment, tourism and cultural ties,” Aloke Singh, Chief Strategy Officer, IndiGo, said. The new route will further expand IndiGo’s network across Africa, where the LCC currently operates direct services from India to Nairobi, Mauritius and Seychelles.
