TransNusa headed to Melbourne

Indonesia-based TransNusa will add a second nonstop route to Australia next month when it begins flying to Melbourne Tullamarine. Read More » The airline has scheduled four flights a week to Melbourne from Bali with 174-seat A320s starting October 19. The service has been scheduled as an overnight service from Bali and 0525 departure from Melbourne. "We hope to provide passengers not just with a point-to-point flight route but a variety of connecting options that offers passengers a beyond Bali experience," TransNusa group CEO, Datuk Bernard Francis, said. "From Bali, passengers will have options to connect to exciting island locations such as world class diving and coral reef destinations, Wakatobi and Manado, as well as other major destinations in the Asia Pacific region." Melbourne will join Perth in TransNusa’s Australia network. "While TransNusa is a new airline for Melbourne Airport, it has been flying to Perth since early 2025 and understands how Australians like to travel," Melbourne Airport CEO, Lorie Argus, said. "We’re pleased to welcome TransNusa to the Melbourne Airport family and happy to be able to offer holiday makers extra choice in time for summer." There are currently five airlines flying nonstop between Tullamarine and Bali - Batik Air Malaysia, Garuda Indonesia, Jetstar Airways, Qantas Airways and Virgin Australia.
