Passengers flying on multi-carrier itineraries involving oneworld alliance members will be able to checkin online, scan their passport and receive their digital boarding passes for all legs of their trip. Read More » Having checked in and with their boarding passes saved in their digital wallet, the passenger then drops off their checkin bag or heads straight to security once at the airport. The airline marketing alliance said digital checkin applied to all flights operated by oneworld carriers in a passenger’s itinerary, irrespective of the first operating carrier. "Customers expect a consistent, easy-to-use experience with their preferred airline’s check-in tools and they should expect the same when flying on their alliance partners," oneworld CEO, Ole Orver, said. Looking further ahead, oneworld is also working to enable passengers to checkin on codeshare itineraries and on the introduction of dynamic boarding passes, which improve security. "For customers travelling internationally, this enhanced digital check-in capability brings greater convenience and continuity when connecting with oneworld partner airlines, enabling them to manage more of their journey through their preferred digital channel," Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) CEO of the airline business, Bryan Foong, said. MAG is the parent company of oneworld alliance member Malaysia Airlines.
