China Airlines partners with Discovery Channel to show audiences in Asia its MRO operations

Read More » The documentary explores Taiwan-based China Airlines’ maintenance hangar, offering an in-depth look at the frontlines of aircraft maintenance, the aviation safety system, professional expertise, talent development, and safety culture. The documentary premiered on the Discovery Channel in Taiwan, then aired across Southeast Asia and Japan. “Beyond Engineering: Guardians of Flight offers rare footage of the aircraft maintenance process—from inspection and servicing to reinstallation and testing—as well as landing gear replacement and parts inspections. The China Airlines’ 24-hour Maintenance Operation Center was also featured, where engineers monitor aircraft around the world in real time to ensure safe and reliable operations. Additionally, the airline’s Technical Training Center utilizes mixed-reality (MR) and advanced simulators to train the next generation of maintenance talent, showcasing a comprehensive system of talent development and knowledge transfer,” CAL said in a statement.
